content management

Content management systems ( cms ) are simply a set of pages that are accessible only by the owner of the site, and which are used to add to and edit all or part of the website's content via simple forms.

The type of content that is manageable can range from just a couple of paragraphs of text on a single page through to all content on every page. In short, you take control over what becomes simply another facet of your business. You do not need to contact a designer every time a new page needs to be added; simply create it yourself.

We have our own standard cms, onto which we can add a variety of modules that we have developed over a number of years, including :

  • News
  • Diary
  • Availability calendar
  • Competitions
  • Special offers
  • Stock control
  • Sales history

Not every project is the same, and so the basic modules may need to be tweaked to suit, but at least you will not be paying for them to be built from scratch. If we do not have any existing code to draw upon then it is not a problem to design something bespoke.

We generally recommend that if you wish to enable payment processes on your site you couple it with the ability to manage your online store, simply because you need to be able to add and remove items in line with your stock situation, and not have to wait for a designer to find time to make the changes.

In terms of cost, building a site in this way is generally no more, often less, expensive than paying a designer to build every page that you need, particularly if the site contains many sections and sub-sections. However, if we feel that this would not be a cost-effective solution, we will say so, and will happily put together a static site if that is all that is required.

It is perfectly possible to integrate the facilities into an existing site; call us for an obligation-free chat about your ideas.

"Anthony rebuilt and modernised our website, improving on the original while keeping the sprit and style of the previous one. He made suggestions but listened to our preferences. Very easy to work with."
